  • Consul General meets Kurgan Governor Consul General Tim Sandusky Visits Kurgan

    Consul General Tim Sandusky signs the official transfer of over 4 million rubles worth of equipment, including two all-terrain vehicles, two snowmobiles, computers and other technical equipment, to the Kurgan Oblast branch of the Russian Federal Narcotics Control Service.

    On May 12, the Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Consulate in Yekaterinburg was honored to present Vasily Voinov’s photographs in the context of Mayakovsky’s American visit and his verse. The exhibition of 52 of Voinov’s prints was presented at the Gallery of Modern Art and entitled “My Discovery of America"

Perm Essay Winners Win Lunch with Consul General
In May 2009 the city of Perm celebrated a 15 year anniversary of sister city relations with Louisville, KY. In the context of this celebration the Perm American Corner supported by the U.S. Consulate General in Yekaterinburg, the Perm City Council and the Sister-city Committee, initiated an essay contest among high school and university students.

Consul General opens conference on jury trials in Russia
Consul General Tim Sandusky opened a conference dedicated to the development of the jury trial system in Russia in Yekaterinburg on May 13. The conference was organized by the Russian Jurors Club (www.juryclub.ru) and supported by the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Justice.

Consul General participates in Victory Day events
Consul General Tim Sandusky participated in Yekaterinburg’s Victory Day commemorations on May 9 by laying a wreath at the Shirokaya Rechka Military memorial and visiting Russia’s largest veterans’ hospital.

All applicants should submit nonimmigrant visas documents to Pony Express at least six weeks prior to their intended departure date. If applicants are planning to travel during the peak summer or holiday seasons, we recommend allowing for additional processing time.

Starting in November 2008, any person renewing a B1, B2, or B1/B2 visa issued in Russia on or after 06 November 2007 with an expiration date within the last 12 months, may qualify for a waiver of personal appearance at the Consulate.
