Call Center Information
Since August 2004, the U.S. Consulate General in Yekaterinburg has provided all visa- related information through a user-pays call center.
This call center allows us to provide prompt and thorough service to public. Previously, most callers who wished to inquire about a visa matter with the Consulate experienced significant delays before their call was connected to an operator. This service, operated by Direct Star in cooperation with MTU Inform Company and WorldTeq Corporation, offers callers immediate access to a wide range of visa-related information and the opportunity to speak with a live operator from 08:00 to 20:00 Moscow time. This system provides callers with a high level of service and alleviates the frustration of those who were not able to contact the Consulate for basic information about visas.
The call center provides information on all visa-related topics, both immigrant and non-immigrant and is accessible through the following numbers:
- From Russia : (495) 787-3167, (495) 974-8843. Cost $2.68 per minute, 3 minutes minimum.
- From the U.S.A. : 1-888-222-5673. Payment by credit card only. Cost $12 per call, regardless of duration.
- Everywhere else: (495) 787-3167, (495) 974-8843( Moscow is 8 hours ahead of Washington , DC ), 1-888-222-5673. Payment by credit card only. Cost $12 per call regardless of duration.
Operators are available from 8:00 AM to 8:00PM from Monday through Friday.
The U.S. Consulate General in Yekaterinburg no longer accepts direct calls from the public on visa-related matters. General information, of course, will continue to be available on the Internet at http://www.usa.ural.ru.
