DVC Connects Afghanistan and Vietnam Veterans

To mark the 18th anniversary of the withdrawal of the Soviet Army from Afghanistan, on February 16th PAS Yekaterinburg organized a DVC with two representatives of the American Legion: Michael Schlee, Director of the National Security and Foreign Relations Division, and Steven Robertson, Director of the National Legislative Commission. Members of the Sverdlovsk regional branch of the All-Russia Union of Afghanistan Veterans and the Center of Military Studies and Military History of the Humanitarian University participated in the DVC. American and Russian veterans discussed the operation of U.S. veterans' organizations, membership regulations, lobbying for veterans' interests in legislatures, programs of historical preservations, and veterans' medical care. The DVC initiated an open and friendly dialog between veterans from the U.S. and Russia.
