Official Opening of American-Russian Joint Venture in Yekaterinburg

Consul General Scott Rauland participated in the opening ceremony and press conference devoted to the opening of a Russian Joint Venture (JV) with the American firm Penetron on April 19, 2005. The plant manufactures professional chemical construction products “Penetron” and “Hydrohit” for waterproofing, protection and/or repair of concrete. The press conference was attended by representatives from Penetron’s European and American headquarters, Victor Koksharov, Sverdlovsk Oblast Minister for Foreign Relations, and Aleksandr Loshchenko, Head of the URFO Construction Agency. The plant is the only one in Russia that applies high-end technology to waterproofing and strengthening concrete. The plant will manufacture 5,000 tons of dry construction mixes in 2005 and will raise its output almost six fold by the fall of 2006, providing over 60 jobs for locally employed staff.
Consul General Rauland wished every success to the founders of the plant and long life to the newly established Russian American JV.
