Consulate Celebrates The 60th Anniversary Of The Meeting On The Elbe With Russian Veterans

The Yekaterinburg American Center and the community development NGO “Pomogi Sovetom” organized a sing-along for Russian WWII veterans from the House of Veterans #1 and US Consulate General officers to celebrate the day when American and Soviet troops met on the Elbe river.  A choir from the Yekaterinburg Public Administration Academy led the festivities by singing famous Russian and American WWII songs.  The veterans recounted numerous stories from the war and shared their feelings on the American-Russian alliance to defeat fascism.
