U.S. Consul General hosts an Easter reception
May 5, 2006

On May 4 U.S. Consul General John Stepanchuk hosted an Easter reception at his residence. About 30 people attended,  including religious leaders and representatives of Yekaterinurg's cultural, education, business, and ethnic communities, as well as singers of Yekaterinburg's Cathedral Choir. The Consul General greeted participants of the U.S.government sponsored program "Tolerance in a modern society", who have recently returned from the U.S.
The highlight of the reception was the choral singing of the Cathedral-on-the-Blood choir.  The choir's repertoire included liturgical choral works of Dmitriy Bortnyanskiy, Pavel Chesnokov, Stepan Degtyaryev and other outstanding composers of Orthodox liturgical music.
