Russian Students Discussed U.S. Domestic and Foreign Policy with American Professor

Dr. Bob Beatty, professor of political science at Washburn University visited Yekaterinburg May 14-16. During the three days of his stay, Dr. Beatty lectured to over 200 students at the Urals State University (U.S. Relations with China), Yekaterinburg Institute of International Relations (U.S. Presidential Elections-2008), Urals State Economic University (U.S. Foreign Policy) and Urals State Academy of Law (Current issues in the International Relations). Yekaterinburg’s students got a chance to receive first-hand information from an experienced American political scientist on a variety of contemporary issues. Dr. Beatty also met with Yekaterinburg’s political analysts at the Institute of Philosophy and Law of the Urals Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, where they discussed the current political and economic situation in China. Dr. Beatty's open and informative presentations engaged the young and professional audiences, encouraging an open and lively dialog, which again confirmed mutual interests between U.S. and Russian citizens.
