Adam Klipple jams with young Yekaterinburg Jazz artists on June 18-20, 2007
June 25, 2007
Adam Klipple, a prominent jazz pianist, composer and leader of the AK4 band in New York was extraordinarily successful in his role as educator of young artists ranging from ages 7-18. During the three days of auditions, rehearsals and master classes, not only did he manage to teach the children the basics of jazz style and improvisation, but he also showed everyone present what passion and expression in jazz performance can give to an audience. Adam's concert with Yekaterinburg’s jazz men on June 18 and the final gala show with the children, laureates of the competition, on June 20 were both sold-out events and a whirl of energy and creative joy. The first-ever Summer Jazz School for Youth, initiated by a local children's music school and supported by the U.S. consulate and the ministry of culture, proved to be a very demanded and enjoyable experience for all the participants and audiences.
