PAO Speaks at FSA/FLEX Finalists Pre-departure Orientation

On June 28th PAO Virgil Strohmeyer told the 30 finalists of the FSA/FLEX program about his experiences as a former high-school teacher and as a student adapting to foreign cultures. He reminded them that they would be true Russian Diplomats in the U.S., who had as much to offer as to take away, and that because the U.S. was so diverse culturally, they could not create a fuller picture of the U.S. until they shared their American experiences with one another on their return. The finalists were taken with the idea of being grassroots ambassadors, whose effective work would continue after their return.
