A visit to Klenovskoye children’s shelter in Nizhneserginskiy district
June 30, 2005
CG Scott Rauland, who is completing his tour of duty in Yekaterinburg, paid a farewell visit to the children’s shelter in Klenovskoye, with which the Consulate maintains close ties. The children gave the guests wild flowers and small souvenirs which they had made themselves. The guests also brought some gifts including two computers and lots of candy. There was a concert with singing and dancing, which ended with the guests joining the dancers in a rousing rendition of the “Hokey Pokey.” Fond memories were shared of the skiing trips that the children made with the CG last winter, and many warm and cordial farewell words were exchanged.
