The U.S. Consulate celebrates the U.S. Independence Day
July 14, 2006
The Consulate General Yekaterinburg celebrated the U.S. Independence day on Monday July 3, 2006 with a reception at the Yekaterinburg Fine Arts Museum. This year we marked America’s 230th birthday. Singers from the Great Pontifical Choir of the Cathedral on the Blood performed the two national anthems, and “Rusichi” folk ensemble entertained guests during the reception. The guests enjoyed traditional hamburgers and hot dogs fresh off the grill. The representatives of the Governor of Sverdlovsk oblast and Mayor of Yekaterinburg along with the Mayors from Izhevsk, Novouralsk, Kopeysk and Schuchanskiy rayon took the floor to greet the United States of America. Numerous local and regional political, civic, and religious leaders were in attendance as well as prominent businessmen and community activists. Even rain could not spoil our great holiday and festive mood.
