New Consul General John Stepanchuk is introduced to Sverdlovsk Oblast Governor Rossel

Newly arrived Consul General John Stepanchuk called on Sverdlovsk Oblast Governor Eduard Rossel on September 2, 2005. Governor Rossel briefed the Consul General on Sverdlovsk Oblast's economic situation and stressed his interest in attracting further investment to the region. They discussed areas for mutual cooperation, noting that the United States is already the Oblast's leading source of foreign investment, and the largest foreign trade partner.
Mr. Stepanchuk thanked the Governor for his support for the American Consulate over the past eleven years, and expressed his desire to develop mutual cooperation not only in the commercial sphere, but in education and culture as well. Both agreed the intensifying sister city relationships will help foster expanded trade and investment ties.
