Closure of the U.S. Consulate General in Yekaterinburg
September 12, 2004
The U.S. Consulate General in Yekaterinburg will be closed to the public beginning Monday, September 13, to evaluate Consulate security in light of an incident that occurred on September 10. The Consulate will continue to provide emergency services for American citizens. Applicants for visas with appointments that fall during the time the Consulate is closed will be given a new appointment as soon as possible after the Consulate reopens.
While we regret any inconvenience this may cause, the safety of the employees of the U.S. Consulate and its visitors remains our utmost concern.
