Consul General John Stepanchuk visited Tyumen

Consul General John Stepanchuk visited Tyumen on September 16 -17. The Consul General called on the Governor of Tyumen oblast, Sergey S. Sobyanin, to discuss the oil and gas region’s huge economic potential and investment opportunities, as well as the activities of U.S. companies already working in Tyumen oblast. The Governor said Tyumen welcomed foreign investment and tried to create investment-friendly environment. The Consul General also attended festivities on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Tyumen State University. Bolshoy Theater musicians, singers and dancers took part in an impressive concert to mark the occasion. Speaking at a reception given by the Rector afterward, Mr. Stepanchuk congratulated the faculty and students on the jubilee and wished them every success in the future.
