Consul General John Stepanchuk met with Andrey Kozitsyn, Director General of Urals Mining and Metallurgical Company on September 29, 2005. Mr. Kozitsyn briefed Mr. Stepanchuk on UMMC's development, modernization efforts, and the company's social programs and role in the regional and global economy. In November UMMC will open production of Zinc wire using $12 million of American equipment imported from the Southwire Company, of Carrollton, Georgia.
