Thanksgiving Comes a Day Early in Chelyabinsk

On November 24th, U.S. Consul General Scott Rauland and Mrs. Francis Rauland brought a pumpkin pie to Chelybansk to celebrate Thanksgiving at the American Corner.  USG program alumni and those interested in American culture discussed with the Consul General Thanksgiving traditions and watched the film, Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, one of the best Thanksgiving films ever made.  The celebration marked the end of a charity drive for a local orphanage that collected 600 childrens' books and toys.
