Operation "Santa Claus" Launched in Yekaterinburg

The U.S. Consulate General in Yekaterinburg expanded its Thanksgiving programming to include events at the American Corner in Chelyabinsk and the American Center in Yekaterinburg. Consul General Scott Rauland met with students and discussed Thanksgiving traditions and showed holiday films. The event in Chelyabinsk marked the end of a charity drive for a local orphanage that collected over 600 children’s books and toys. While in Yekaterinburg, the event marked the beginning of “Operation Santa Claus”, a charity drive for two orphanages located near Yekaterinburg. Those wishing to donate, can bring their contributions for the orphanages in Klinovskoe and Bulanash to the American Center over the next three to four weeks.
